MEMS READING RIGHTS PROGRAM
A parent's reading level is the single greatest predictor of a child's academic success. At MEMS EYEWEAR, we're tackling adult literacy to build a brighter future for the entire family. Join us in making a lasting impact.
We will donate a portion of each bamboo collection to an adult literacy charity. Together, we can have a positive impact on the future.

Here are some facts about literacy in the United States. A mother’s reading skill is the greatest determinant of her children’s academic success, outweighing other factors such as neighborhood and family income. More than 43 million adults in the United States cannot read, write or do math beyond a third grade level. Incarceration: 75 % of state incarcerated individuals did not complete high school or can be classified as low literate. Incarcerated individuals who participate in correctional education programs are 43% less likely to recidivate than inmates who do not.
